David Trinder was a plumber before he ever put his name above a door. Around 1911 he moved to Summer Hill and set up the business that would carry the family name for more than a century. The Inner West was a working suburb built on trade, and we were one of its own from the start.

What a hundred years teaches you
A business does not last five generations by luck. It lasts because it does the work properly, treats people fairly, and is still there when the customer calls back years later. The tools have changed since 1911, the materials have changed, the suburbs have changed. The way we approach a job has not. We still believe the job is not finished until it is done right and the site is left clean. That continuity is the whole point of choosing a plumber with this much history behind them, you are not the first person to rely on us, and you will not be the last.
A bigger site. The same postcode.
For over a century we worked from the same address on Smith Street, Summer Hill. We knew every street in the area. Our vans were a fixture.
A few years ago, we outgrew the site. We sold it, not because we were leaving, but because we were growing. We moved into a larger facility in Campsie, five kilometres away. It's still the same council. Still the same clients. Still the same Inner West.
After more than a century, we're not going anywhere that matters.
Who we work with today
Our work is split evenly between commercial and residential. On the commercial side: schools, councils, hotels, clubs and strata complexes across Sydney. On the residential side: Inner West households, many of whom have called us for years.
Some of those relationships go back decades. We've carried out work for Inner West Council since the late 1970s, Wests Leagues Club in Ashfield since around 1980, and BBM Hotels since the mid-1980s.
Our team of over 10 licensed plumbers handles everything in-house.

A hundred years in the same club
We have been a member of the Master Plumbers and Mechanical Contractors Association of NSW since 1921. In 2022 the association presented us with a certificate marking 100 years of continuous membership, an honour very few plumbing businesses in the country can claim.
Still a local business, still family-run
Five generations on, we are still owned and run by the Trinder family, still licensed and insured, and still working the same Inner West streets where we started. We are not a franchise or a national chain with a local phone number. When you call, you reach the family whose name is on the business, the same people who quote the work and stand behind it.
Looking ahead
With the fourth generation still leading and the fifth already on the tools, the business is set up to keep doing what it has always done, look after the Inner West, well into the future. The move to Campsie gives us the room to take on more work without losing what made the business worth keeping for over a century. The next hundred years start from here, and we intend to spend them the same way we spent the last hundred, doing good work for people who call us back.
